How does Plantar Fasciitis happen?

April 1, 2023

Plantar Fasciitis is a condition that caused inflammation of your plantar fascia, the part of your foot that connects your heel bone to your toes. Symptoms of this condition include things like pain around the heel and arch of the foot, this could be particularly worse in the morning.

Plantar Fasciitis is caused by straining the part of your foot that connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia). Although this condition can start for no particular reason, factors like age, weight and occupation can make you more likely to develop this condition. For example, those whose jobs involve standing for long periods such as teachers or nurses are more likely to develop Plantar Fasciitis due to the continuous pressure put on your feet.

Certain risk factors come into play that can increase your chances of suffering from plantar fasciitis. One of which is age with studies showing those between the ages of 40 and 60 are most likely to suffer. Also, those who engage in physical activity that strains the foot such as ballet and dancing are more likely to suffer due to the ongoing pressure being put onto the heel. The last is your weight. It’s found that if you are obese due to the added weight also straining your foot that you are more likely to suffer from plantar fasciitis,

Ignoring Plantar Fasciitis can lead to chronic heel pain so it is best to seek help if you believe you are suffering from this condition.
